Pumpkin, 2* ways: Face Masks & Cupcakes

Raise your hand if you love pumpkin season! 🙋🏻 I’ve been sipping pumpkin cold brew, making pumpkin candles & experimenting with different pumpkin desserts for the last couple weeks now & I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite finds:

Pumpkin Honey Face Mask

  • 3 tablespoons cooked & mashed pumpkin (or you can used canned organic pumpkin)
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 6-10 drops Vitamin E oil

Mix ingredients together & apply liberally to face & neck area. Relax for 15-20 minutes before washing off & applying your favorite moisturizer.

Tip: Make a larger batch & store extra in the fridge with a lid for easy use!

I recently discovered the Pumpkin pie bread mix from Trader Joe’s (here) and I’m a quick fan! The box is really versatile & can be used as a base for several bread, cupcake & muffin recipes. Here’s one I love for cupcakes:

Pumpkin Pie cupcakes 

  • 1 package Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix 
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil 
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup applesauce 
  • 2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (plus more for topping)
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting

Mix ingredients (excluding frosting) together & pour into light greased muffin tins. Bake on 400* for 15-20 mins or until lightly brown & cooked through. Allow to cool, then add frosting & sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.

Tip: reserve 1/3 of the above batter & add 1/4 cup chopped pecans. Pour in muffin tins & top with brown sugar & chopped pecans & a sprinkle of coarse salt. Bake on 400 for 15-20 mins along with the others!
